I Like How it Feels: Achilles Tendon Injury and Repair

I Like How it Feels.

That was just something that Paula could not say for the last six months as she has had chronic heel pain. She walks many miles a day in work boots, climbs railcars, and is always on her feet. She developed progressive pain and as diagnosed with an Achilles’ tendon injury.

Not all Achilles’ tendon Injuries require surgery. Many of them can be treated with mobilization and physical therapy. There is some evidence that platelet rich plasma injections can also aid in healing. during surgical repair it is often beneficial to add stem cells to the repair which are easily harvested from the pelvis while the patient is asleep.

Paula failed conservative care and had a repair with stem cells. Watch her tell you how well she is doing. Clearly patients can do extremely well and Paula is an example. But timely care and treatment is necessary to recover with the best possible outcome. So What Are You Waiting For?
